Storyline
The story depicts Wei Yingluo (Wu Jinyan) who enters the palace to investigate her sister's murder. She starts off as an embroidery maid and subsequently a maid at Changchun Palace under Empress Fuca Rongyin (Qin Lan).
Rongyin's health has always been poor due to the grieving of her son's death. She finally commits suicide after her second son's death which is caused by Noble Consort Gao Ningxin's (Tan Zhuo) plot.
Yingluo avenges for Rongyin which leads Noble Consort Gao to her death. Emperor Qianlong (Nie Yuan) is attracted to Yingluo because of her intelligence. Yingluo is given the title of Noble Consort Ling.
Consort Xian Hoifa-Nara Shushen (Charmaine Sheh) slowly rises to power and becomes the next Empress.
Shushen and Yingluo finally come to an agreement to stop power struggle. However, Yuan Chunwang (Wang Maolei) who is Shushen's enunch plots evil schemes between the Empress and Consort's children. This calls for war once again.
My View
An exciting harem's power struggle which surprises lots of viewers.
Many lost their sleep for the sake of chasing after each episode.
Lucky for me, I only watch completed dramas to avoid being in agony.
