Storyline
Princess Yeon-hee (Kim Sae-ron) and her twin brother are cursed babies by shaman Hong-joo's (Yum Jung-ah) doing. Hong Joo, under the request by Queen Shim (Jang Hee-jin) uses black magic to transfer the fetus from a young shaman to Queen Shim.
Hong-joo also convinces Queen Shim to transfer all the curses to Yeon-hee to end her life. Yeon-hee is secretly rescued by another shaman Choi Hyun-seo (Lee Sung-jae).
Hyun-seo does not agree in practising black magic unlike Hong-joo. Hong-joo who used to be Hyun-seo's disciple has feelings for him. Hyun-seo also once saved Hong-joo's life.
Fast forward 17 years later, Yeon-hee is being isolated away from everyone. She stays in a house in Black Forest with tailsmans surrounding it. This is set by Hyun-seo to hide Yeon-hee's existence from Hong-joo.
Heo Jun (Yoon Shi-yoon) accidentally breaks into Yeon-hee's house one day. He has heard about ghost from Black Forest and and thinks Yeon-hee must be the ghost. Their misunderstandings are cleared in the end.
Hong-joo eventually finds out about Yeon-hee. When she is trying to kill Yeon-hee, Hyun-seo sacrifices his life. But Hong-joo could not bear to see him die and thus manipulates Hyun-seo to help her. Hyun-seo finally breaks free from her control.
It is said that all Yeon-hee's loved ones will die. Heo-jun has been trying to help Yeon-hee breaks her curse. In order to do that, they have to make a potion. One must drink it to die and the curse is lifted. Yeon-hee chooses to break the curse herself.
My View
I did not even realise about the 14 years age gap between Shi-yoon and Sae-ron. Probably because Shi-yoon looks young despite his age.
MOTW's story is not too bad and I pretty much like its casting.
