Actress Oh Jin-shim (Yoo In-na) by the stage name of Oh Yoo-seo has no jobs for two years due to a scandal.

In order to get a chance to star in a drama, she works as a secretary to lawyer Kwon Jung-rok (Lee Dong-wook) to gain experience.

My View

I think I have a high expectation for TYH since the chemistry of Yoo In-na and Lee Dong-wook is so great in Goblin.

But perhaps it is the plot which makes me feel bored at times.

A female under disguise of male story often leads to lots of funny moments.

The plot towards the end is not too bad with the villian turning into a good person because of love.

Korean Drama : Romance is a Bonus Book

Year Released

2019

Genre

Romance

No. of Episodes

16 - running time of 60 minutes per episode

Starring

Lee Jong-suk, Lee Na-young

Storyline

Cha Eun-ho (Lee Jong-suofk) is a successful author and senior editor at a book publising company. Kang Dan-i (Lee Na-young), a former advertising copywriter who is an unemployed divorcee later joins the publishing company as temporary task support team member.

Eun-ho and Dan-i knew each other since their childhood days as Dan-i once saved Eun-ho from an accident and was injured herself.

My View

It took me quite a while before I decide to watch this drama. As Lee Jong-suk's dramas used to be of fantasy genre and this is just pure romance. But I'm quite surprised that RIABB actually touched my heart.

The part where Eun-ho confesses his love to Dan-i was just too lovely. While both leads are looking at the snow one day, he tells her that the snow is beautiful.

It reminds Dan-i of an author who expresses his love "I Love You" with "The moon is beautiful". When Dan-i asks if Eun-ho likes her, he almost died on the spot. Lol!

Thanks to this show, I finally get what it means when a lady asks a man or vice versa if one would like to stay for a bowl of ramyeon. It means asking one to spend the night together.

This is a famous quote from movie One Fine Spring Day when Lee Young-ae asks if Yoo Ji-tae would like to have some ramyeon.

I was always puzzled as to why guys in K-dramas go crazy when ladies ask them for ramyeon. Faints!

My View

Jo Han-sun and Yeon Jung-hoon are certainly good at being villians here.

Korean Drama : Orange Marmalade

Year Released

2015

Genre

Fantasy, Romance, Teen

No. of Episodes

12 - running time of 50 minutes per episode

Starring

Yeo Jin-goo, Kim Seolhyun, Lee Jong-hyun

Storyline

The story tells about a world where humans and vampires could co-exist as the latter have evolved and no longer rely on human blood to survive. However, vampires are still being feared by the society causing them to hide their true identities. At the same time, there is a vampire association that punishes any vampires for harming humans.

Baek Ma-ri (Kim Seolhyun) is eager to settle down in the new neighbourhood. She enters a new school and gets to know Jung Jae-min (Yeo Jin-goo). Jae-min eventually finds out about her vampire identity.

My View

I like it how the story starts in the modern world then flashes back to ancient times.

I learn about what orange marmalade means when Ma-ri explains about it in one of the episodes.

Marmalade is made from citrus fruit, peel and juice etc. Meaning there is a part for everyone and not just always the beautiful side. Ma-ri is secretly hinting about humans and vampires could also be friends.

Choi Won-young and D.O. are truly scary.
